I cannot speak highly enough of my personal trainer, Khai. Only with his expert guidance, unwavering support, tailored workouts and nutrition plans, I have achieved a physical transformation that I never thought possible, especially at my age.

From being skinny fat to participating (and unexpectedly winning!) a bodybuilding competition, I could never have done it without Khai. He has been instrumental in helping me realize my lifelong dream (since childhood!) and crossed an item on my “bucket list”.

Weight Loss, Rehabilitation and Stamina

Before joining Unreal, I faced several challenges related to my fitness and overall health including a lack of motivation to exercise regularly, persistent knee pain due to all that extra weight I was carrying and difficulty in losing weight despite trying various diets and workout regimes. Additionally, I often felt fatigued and lethargic and struggled with low energy levels throughout the day.

Since I started training with Khai, I have experienced numerous positive changes. Physically, I have lost a significant amount of weight – 12 kgs to date and my knee pain has reduced. My endurance and strength has increased noticeably, giving me more stamina to train. Mentally, I feel more focused, energized, and confident. Khai takes the trouble to only show me the right way, but also educate me about why or how certain things need to be done. So, even when I am training on my own, I know exactly what to do without risking injuries. Khai's tailored workout plan and constant encouragement have made a substantial difference in my overall well-being.

Strength Building to Combat Age-Related Muscle Loss

I have been training with James for a little over three years. My goal was to build strength.

As I aged, (I’m in my early 60’s) I noticed a significant loss of muscle. The knock on effect was joint issues, which impacted on my ability to be active and play the sports I enjoyed at the level I wanted. Side note, three years into training and those initial issues have gone.

James’s amazing knowledge of training and his ability to apply that effectively to meet my body's needs, has helped me surpass my own expectations. His attention to detail of movement ensures I am correctly lifting weights appropriately and safely with maximum effect.

James also has qualifications in training and nutrition which he has utilised effectively to educate me. He patiently answers my millions of questions on both training and nutrition in ways that I can relate to and understand clearly. He is totally focused on my needs when we train and knows how to encourage and motivate me when needed. Thanks James. I look forward to continuing this strength and fitness journey with you.

Pre and Post-Surgery Rehabilitation

Working with Unreal Trainers Yang and Harvey

I came to Unreal looking to train as a form of rehabilitation after sustaining an injury which affected my usual exercise routine. Harvey supported me through pre- and post-surgery rehabilitation, helping me gain strength and restore range. With Harvey's guidance, I was able to remain active both while injured and very quickly after surgery. Since recovering I have been training with Yang. Yang constantly pushes me to do weights I never knew I could do or even thought of doing, and the process of getting stronger unconsciously has been addictive.

Training with both Harvey and Yang has been enjoyable with their concise coaching while challenging me and guiding me to reach new targets. The whole Unreal team has been remarkable with their continuously learning and sharing of knowledgeable, and I am very grateful to be part of the community!

Injury Rehabilitation and Overall Health

My personal trainer, Pierre, and I have been working together at Unreal for about four months, starting in February. I have a history of meniscus tears, which causes significant issues in my daily life. Sitting in a car for more than five minutes makes my knees numb and uncomfortable. Walking on uneven terrain also causes extreme numbness and pain, affecting my work. Sleeping is challenging due to the unbearable knee numbness, especially after a day with a lot of knee bending. Despite staying active and going to the gym, I saw no improvement and was frustrated by my knee's limitations.

Since training with Unreal, I've noticed a significant improvement in my knee. I've learned more about my body and realized that my knee injury caused knee flexion issues. This understanding has made me more patient with myself.

The training has also encouraged healthier eating habits, resulting in increased energy and better sleep. I no longer need afternoon naps, and my moods at work have improved. Most importantly, my knee pain and numbness have subsided.Training with Unreal has given me more energy and a better mental state. I sleep better and find it easier to carry heavy loads at work due to improved grip and posture.

Workout Focus and Motivation

Working with Unreal trainer Magesh

Being training with Magesh at Unreal PT for 4 months since May.

I’ve always been training on my own, however, work demands have been increasing in the last 2 years and I found myself unmotivated and distracted whenever I trained alone. I hate doing cardio, I hate doing legs and it came to a point where I didn’t like how I looked in the mirror.⁠

Magesh is AWESOME! He is extremely patient in educating me about my macros and why it matters and he knows how to work around my dislikes, especially his approach to my legs training. Ever since I’ve been training at Unreal with Magesh, I’ve never skipped a leg day, I actually enjoy doing leg workout now. I’m less distracted and more motivated whenever I work out as I’m committing my hour to working out with Magesh pushing me. I’m probably stronger than I ever was, and I’m happy with how I look in the mirror.

When you look good you feel good, I’m definitely more confident now. Being able to take and hour off to just focus on working out without any distraction is contributing to my work-life balance.

Unreal’s environment is extremely friendly, the other trainers are nice and supportive to you even if you’re not training with them, it’s a very encouraging environment as you start building connections with people at Unreal.
